Sunrise Rotary of Baton Rouge is part of Rotary International, a philanthropic organization of 1.2 million people working to create positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world.
Rotary, an organization for professionals with diverse backgrounds who exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships, encourages and fosters the ideal of service above self and so Sunrise Rotarians give of themselves to support various areas of need in their communities by being of service to others. The diverse occupations, cultures and ethnicities of the membership give Rotarians a unique perspective which enhances their passion for service.
Sunrise Rotary was chartered in 1988 with 41 members. The 115 current members attend weekly breakfast meetings at Bocage Racquet and Tennis Club in Baton Rouge. Meetings start at 7:20 a.m. and conclude at 8:30 a.m. At each meeting members benefit from outstanding speakers and programs that enlighten, support and encourage members in their service to the community as they form lasting friendships.
