Event Details

Dr. Cathy Williams is a Professor in the School of Animal Sciences.  She conducts research in dairy cattle nutrition, with particular emphasis on neonatal calf and replacement heifer nutrition and management.  In addition to her research program, Dr. Williams teaches several courses including Introduction to Animal Science, Domestic Animal Endocrinology, Senior Seminar, Applied Animal Feed Formulation, and Dairy Farm Management. She has worked with many students in undergraduate research through the Special Topics in Animal Science course (ANSC 3900). She also guest lectures in such courses as Companion Animal Management, Animal Nutrition, and Clinical Veterinary Nutrition at the LSU Vet School.  Dr. Williams serves as Curriculum Coordinator for the School of Animal Sciences and advises many students in all concentrations in animal sciences. She also coaches the LSU Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge Team. Dr. Williams is a native of Bogalusa, LA and graduated from Bogalusa High School. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Dairy Production Science from LSU, a Master of Science degree in Dairy Nutrition from the University of Georgia, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Animal Nutrition from Auburn University. She has been a faculty member at LSU since 1998.  In addition to teaching and research, Dr. Williams serves as advisor to the LSU Dairy Science Club and the LSU Block and Bridle Club.
